The Postgraduate Specialisation Programme (MSc) in APPLIED BIOCHEMISTRY started operating for the first time in 1994 with the aim to meet the needs for deep Biochemical Education in Greece under the title “Applied Biochemistry – Biotechnology”. In 2011, where three Departments related to Biochemistry have been funded in Greece in graduate level, the MSc Programme was titled “Applied Biochemistry: Clinical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Evaluation of Pharmaceutical Products” to indicate in details the level of knowledge of post-graduates. In 2018, and in line with the requirements of Law 4485/2017, the program was re-launched in the form of a Joint Postgraduate Programme in collaboration of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Patras and of the Institute of Biosciences and Applications of NCSR "Demokritos".
